Miami as City-State

Rather than a semi-integrated ethnic enclave, Miami is an autonomous community with its own political preferences and overarching moral economy. As such, when it comes to matters pertaining to Cuba, ideological bias and social conformity against Cuba are inescapable elements.

So says a sociologically oriented friend of the court brief to the US Supreme Court.

An important of this is that elsewhere movements are crushed or coerced because of so-called separatist ideas, such as Quebec and or Aztlan, when in fact the "Miami as City-State," remains and continues to be supported for the purpose of crushing a sovereign country. And so in the rest of the country their is a racist and classist response to groups, i.e. Chicanos, questioning loyalty and labeled as traitors with little or no financial or political power, while the Miami Cubans (gusanos) openly display their disdain for the U.S. and parasitically see it as a host for the time being.
